when the first fruit start to appear in your kid garden patch it is also
the time that your garden birds hope for a tasty meal or two
~often they eat the fruit when they are very young and thus not leaving
any for the kids to pick which can be very disappointing after a lot of
hard gardening work
~ Try a simple methods to keep the garden birds at bay

have the added benefit of recycling otherwise useless materials

you will need: |
~
old cd roms
~ a piece of string or garden wire
~ bean pole sticks or garden canes
~ tinfoil ( aluminium foil) |

to make this CD Craft for Garden |

~ string the first
cd on the the garden twine or wire
~ next add a piece of foil which will act as a seperator between the cds
~ then add another cd and carry on until your garden twine is full
~ attach to both ends of the bamboo canes or bean pole sticks
~ put the stickes over your fruit bed, like starwberries, or in your soft
fruit edging
~ this garden craft can also be hung from walls if you are growing soft
fruit up a wall or trellis
~ we used our cd scarer on our strawberry bed but had to put 2 lines up
as the birds tried to sneak in inbetween- test it out for your own kid
garden patch

~ for this cd rom crafts the best thing to use is cd roms that are shiney
on both sides as the light reflection has the deterrent effect for the birds
~ if however you only have cd's that have one side labelled then get the
kids to paint the labelled side with acrylic paints, sunflowers, funny garden
animal faces,sunny smiles are all fun to decorate the kids garden with,
just add plenty of aluminium foil on your string as well
