Windowsill Herb Garden
|
|
When it is cold winter
time outside try cultivating a windowsill garden
with your little kid garden enthusuasts
. All you need is a sunny spot and a few containers of soil to get you
started . Culinary Herbs are an excellent choice for windowsills and are
easy to grow with children and they love snipping off a few leaves for
your dinner
~ If you dont have a large backyard than windowsill gardens are ideal
to provide a little kid gardening space

An Indoor Garden is
the easiest way to start a beginner garden with
kids. It is easily managable and provides a good success rate
in a realtively short time period
Indoor gardens as well
as windowsill herb gardens are easily
maintained and take little looking after if set up well from the start
- just enjoy picking yummy herbs for dinner

Garden Book We Love |
Organic
Mushroom Kits |
|

Maya loved Linneas
book in Monets Garden and we saw this one as she wanted to create her
own just like Linnea did - what a delightful book all about kid gardening,
indoor gardening
The book is kind of like Linneas Garden Journal where she explains what
she did day by day . And it shows that your dont have to have a great
big backyard but can happily to create an indoor gardening patch of your
own
We also love the
cute drawings and Mr Bloom explainging a little garden science along the
way. There are lots of activities with seeds, how to take cuttings and
what to do with exotic fruit pips.
|
Not
quite grown on a sunny windowsill garden but in dark cupboard instead as
growing mushrooms requires darkness And we love harvesting the edible button
mushrooms for tea and will try shitake mushrooms next
~ Maya and her Dad have been experimenting with organic mushroom kits and
it is really funny to "go into the cupboard" to water the mushrooms
~ Our Mushroom growing page will tell you a little more about our
success rate |
